Meet Megan
22 Design House was founded by Megan Paulson in 2016 after she began to pursue her passion in the interior design industry. As the daughter of a HVAC contractor and custom home designer/builder and do-it-yourself parents, Megan rolled these influences, her education in fashion design and merchandising, and her business background into her company.
Raised in San Clemente, California, the “Spanish Village by the Sea,” Megan naturally has a love of the coast, small town quaintness, Spanish architecture, and all of these design aesthetics. She’s been equally inspired by Nancy Meyers’ film sets which have led her to her own design style which is cohesive, functional, and most importantly inviting. She embraces that each project is different from the last and takes pride in creating interiors that are personal to her clients. She has a relaxed, down-to-earth, intuitive design approach, and favors working with textured materials, natural elements, and contrasting finishes. Megan acquired an acute eye for detail while working in the apparel industry and is quite meticulous which explains why she works closely with architects, contractors, and vendors. She excels at on-site problem solving and thrives in the minutiae of the construction and design process.
Megan now resides in Ventura, California, where she has raised her family for the past 20+ years. She’s a wife, proud mother to 3 humans, 1 dog, 2 cats, and 2 tortoises, and loves being a part of her community.
